‘Road To Yesterday’ ends AFRIFF 2015 in style

In their usual way of making things happen, the multiple award-winning actress Genevieve Nnaji, and actor Oris Erhuero brought the curtain down on the 2015 African International Film Festival (AFRIFF) with ‘Road to Yesterday’.
The feature length film produced by The Entertainment Network (TEN) closed the seven-day film festival with astounding reviews.
Road To Yesterday, a romantic thriller, trails a couple desperate to mend a broken marriage on a road trip to a relative's funeral. However, the journey itself throws up secrets from a distant past, imperilling a lot more than just the marriage.
Genevieve Nnaji, who stars as the conflicted wife, Victoria Udoka, called the closing night gala "an honour" as she graced the red carpet in Lagos’ Genesis Deluxe Cinema alongside co-stars Oris Erhuero, Chioma ‘Chigul’ Omeruah, and Ebele Okaro as well as the film's director and co-writer Ishaya Bako.
Bako, whose series of highly acclaimed festival favourites, including the award winning “Braids on a Bald Head” said it is "amazing" to be given the honour to close the festival.

On Friday, November 13, 2015, the media had an interesting interactive session with the cast, crew and a sponsor of the soon to be released film, Road To Yesterday. Below are their responses:

I am really proud of the job -Director, Ishaya Bako
The director and co-writer of the film, Ishaya Bako, traced the genesis of the film by telling the press how it all started when they were working on another project altogether, then Genevieve said, “This is the story I have.”
Bako believes “Road to Yesterday is a love story and a different kind of film that people are used to. I wrote the script with my writing partner. I am happy that we were able to produce the film. It is a fantastic film and I am really proud of the job.”

TEN is not just here to invest in content but also in people – Genevieve Nnaji
In this film, Genevieve was not just an actress but was also the producer. She shares her experience, the challenges she faced and how she was able to balance it: “The challenge was being the producer and playing a role as Victoria. I had to focus on Victoria. I took a back seat and focused on the film while my partner and the Executive Producer of the film, Chinny Onweghenu, was behind the camera. I think I am blessed to have had capable hands.  Every challenge was a welcome blessing.”
The story: “I had the story for about 24 years and I tried to get the story written by someone, he did not quite get it. I hired a foreigner, he did not get it. But, it took a young Nigerian writer to actually give me what I wanted. We should encourage our youth to learn on the job. TEN is not just here to invest in content but also in people to help them grow in the industry. We want it to be a film Nigerians are proud of.”

Kiss Daniel Unveils "GOOD TIME"

Kiss Daniel is not a musician who believes in half measures, and after tantalizing the earbuds of
his fans with hits such as “WOJU”, “LAYE”, “RABA”, and more recently MOLUE alongside SugarBoy, he returns with this heavy afrobeats track “GOOD TIME”.
The artiste, who recently was crowned The Most Promising Act to Watch in Africa at the recently concluded AFRIMA AWARDS, enlists the services of Fiokee (the guitarist behind (Woju and Laye) to add live guitars to this DJ Coublon production.
The track is heavy on percussion, and early reviews suggest that this is a masterpiece from the rave of the moment, Kiss Daniel, to round off a year where his consistent hard-work has seen him get more media mileage, awards, and nominations at this year’s HEADIES and NMVA AWARDS.

DELECTABLE NIGERIAN SINGER, SIMI STEALS THE SPOTLIGHT IN lATEST HILARIOUS MUSIC VIDEO; OPEN AND CLOSE

Those who know Simi will easily agree that the young graduate of Mass Communication is very talented. A good pointer to this is her new music video,” Open and Close”.

The video is from her upcoming sophomore album which parades other hit singles like 'Jamb Question' that dropped earlier this year

In this hilarious video, Simi shows her acting skills through the comic character she played. Poised as a naïve attractive young lady, Simi stole the spotlight of a high-octane gig held at the one of the elites suburb where she pooled everyone to her with her dance. The video although entertaining harps on the power of self-confidence. Despite her unrefined manners, she was able to shine to the envy of those who considered themselves royalty.
