Amidst glam and style, cognac connoisseurs, captains of industry, entertainers and other celebrities converged at Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos last weekend as the iconic cognac from the stables of Pernod Ricard, Martell Caractere, was formally launched in Nigeria.
The guests,
who gathered paid homage as they welcomed the unique drink full of character.
With its glamorous entrant into the Nigerian market, Nigeria became the second market globally after the United States of America to have a taste of Martell Caractere, the cognac for the true man; keeping up with the commitment to innovation and leadership in the cognac market.
At the event, ace rapper M.I, hip hop star Wande Coal and rave of the moment Yung El ensured there were no dull moment as they turned out scintillating performances which left the guests asking for more. Also, on hand to dish out the best of music was DJ Nana, Nigeria’s foremost female disc jockey.
The new Martell Caractere, offers style, elegance, complexity and balance for the true man of character. It pays tribute to the spirit of legendary entrepreneur and Martell founder, Jean Martell.
According to Managing Director, Pernod Ricard Nigeria, Mr. Oliver Fages the introduction of ‘Martell Caractère’ into the Nigerian market is in line with the global drive to position the brand uniquely in the minds of its consumers.
According to Fages, Martell will be celebrating its tricentennial anniversary. 300 years of producing number one ultra-premium cognac and Martell Caractère is rooted in this history. Utilising the 300-year-old Martell Method, a unique distillation process passed down from Jean Martell himself.
“Martell Caractere is created using grapes sourced from Martell’s own vineyards in the Domaine Jean Martell, distilled twice without lees and aged in fine grain French oak barrels. The blend has a generous character and subtle fruity notes. Martell Caractère has style, elegance, tenacity, and that touch of class that is special to Martell. Beyond the boldness of its flavour, this cognac is dedicated to true “men of character”, authentic, refined and confident in every dimension in life” Fages said.
