This administration is committed to building the capacity of our armed forces to enable them defend the territorial integrity of Nigeria. In furtherance of this goal, I commissioned four ships recently acquired for the Nigerian Navy in Lagos today. These ships will help the Navy further secure our territorial waters, check incidences of piracy and protect the economic interest of Nigeria by fighting oil theft as well as provide security for maritime activities within our continental shelf. We will continue to ensure that the military are not just well equipped but that the welfare of our service personnel are taken care of in appreciation of their sacrifices for our nation.
