Rave of the moment and
Reggae Blues crooner, Harrysong and fellow label mate, Kcee, were the special
guest artistes at the Legend Extra Stout ‘Taste and Tell’ night, held in Lagos
over the recently and they thrilled the highly excited crowd who trooped out in
their numbers to witness the unique activation.
The duo got the highly
elated crowd dancing and singing along to some of their hit tracks. Harrysong
kicked off his performance with his ‘Beta Pikin’ hit and his performance drew
waves of cheers from the crowd that filled the marquee on Kuwait Field venue of
the event. Kcee, the Limpopo master, followed up with a medley of some of his
tracks.
But that was just to
prepare the already galvanized crowd for the big one – Reggae Blues - which got
everyone dancing and raising their glasses of Legend Extra Stout. As the duo
performed, the crowd erupted in frenzied dance and merriment.
Yet another interesting
side attraction at the Legend ‘Taste and Tell’ night was the performance by the
Eyo cultural troupe, which added a cultural dimension to the event. The
traditional performers hopped their way on the stage in their resplendent white
attire, dancing and eulogizing the Legend brand.
The Legend ‘Taste and
Tell’ is a unique consumer engagement activation introduced by Legend early
this year. Consumers were required to correctly identify Legend Extra Stout
from three unmarked stout drinks. Individuals who correctly identified Legend
extra stout were rewarded with gift prizes.
In the second wave of
the activation, the brand introduced a new activity geared towards inspiring
Nigerians in the pursuit of excellence. The new activity called “Express
Yourself”, involves participants being picked at random and talking about
distinctive features they think could qualify them to be called legends. The
segment recorded its first winner when Kelvin Dike, a 28-year old businessman,
told of an emotional story of his struggles and conquests. Kelvin said the most
trying time of his life was when he lost his mother in 1998 as a kid but rose
above the challenge to become a self-made man. He was adjudged the winner by
the crowd. He won a generator for his effort.
Also there was a
question and answer session where consumers were asked questions relating to
the brand. The winners went home with N5000 worth of airtime on any network of
their choice.
In the Legend Taste and
Tell tradition, consumers were picked through a raffle draw to come and taste
and tell the difference between Legend Extra Stout and two other stout
brands. Sylvester Obinna, Godwin Obaike
and Daniel Samuel emerged winners as they correctly identify Legend Extra
Stout. While Obinna went home with a generator, Obaike and Samuel won a
refrigerator each, for which they were grateful to the Legend brand.
