ANA condoles FGN on Oronto Douglas demise

The Association of Nigerian Authors has commiserated with the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FGN) on the death of the Special Adviser on Research and Documentation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Research and Documentation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Barrister Oronto Douglas.
In a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary (North), Association of Nigerian Authors, Richard Ali, the association stated that it was sad to hear news of the death of Mr. Douglas, who died on April 8, 2015 from complications with cancer. 
 The statement further said: “Mr. Douglas has been active in the fields of human rights law and the arts since the 1990's and in his last portfolio was a strong friend of the Association. His active support has seen the increased involvement of the Government of Nigeria in engaging with and in funding of the Arts.
 We join all Nigerians in paying our condolence to the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, and to the family of the deceased and we pray may his soul rest in peace.”
