Jonathan removes IGP Suleiman Abba, appoints DIG Solomon Arase


President Jonathan has relieved the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, of his duty and appointed him with DIG Solomon Arase as Acting IGP.
The appointment, according to a tweet by Dr. Reuben Abati, the spokesperson of the president is with immediate effect.
Recall that Abba, NPM, NPOM, mni was the 17th Indigenous Inspector-General of Police and was appointed by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR.
He formally took over on August 1, 2014  from former Police boss, IGP MD Abubakar (Rtd) who headed the Force from January 25, 2012  to July 31, 2014 when he left after completing 35 years of service.
