The multimillionaire businessman and
chief executive officer of The Young Shall Grow Motors, Chief Vincent Obianodo,
was attacked on Tuesday night August 27, 2013 on 22 Road, Festac Town, Lagos, by
suspected assassins.
The incident occurred when he was going home
from work on Tuesday night and a sports utility vehicle double-crossed his
vehicle in a lonely area. Then armed men opened fire on Chief Obianodo's car, killing
his driver who tried to escape and his police escort who fired back at the assassins.
Some policemen on patrol in the
area who were attracted by the shooting rushed to the scene and engaged the
gunmen in a shootout, killing two of them.
It is under investigation, according to the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident. Chief Obianodo was taken to a hospital after the hoost out and he is responding to treatment.
