Life Through My Window by Ndidi Emefiele

“From the initial viewing of Ndidi’s work, it was clear she is on to greater and bigger things, which only leaves us in suspense and anticipation in what she will produce next.  Her fun, edgy, pop-art style was introduced to the art scene at the right time; many bored of the stereotypical mother and child subject, Ndidi introduced a series of refreshing and exciting works, each piece probing the viewer to engage in the emotion behind the eyes. “Life through my window”, is truly an exploration of what she observes around her, and what lives within her.

In today’s modern and multicultural Nigeria, we are becoming exposed to the “new age” woman, and slowly starting to understand the many facets she offers.  Ndidi beautifully explores the layers of the Nigerian woman breaking free from stereotypes that define her ideal self.
She skillfully captures the character of many existing personalities and types of woman, each piece being easily interpreted differently to the personality viewing.
Whether male or female, all of Ndidi’s subjects are real, and relevant.
Ndidi demonstrates a great ability to understand the varying cultures of today.  Her approach to subjects draws attention from viewers of all walks of life; young, old, African, Western; her style of work appeals to a broad audience.  One of the many reasons why she excites us as a gallery.” – Nike Art Galllery.
