The
Nigerian professional journalists from the print, broadcast and
photography specialties are invited to participate in Report Women, the
Girls and Women Investigative Reporting Training.
The
selected participants will get an opportunity to pitch their projects
for small grants. The grant will allow them opportunity to carry out
investigation and report girls and women.
Report
Women is organized by
the Wole Soyinka Center for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) in
collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Nigeria. The
workshop is designed to focus on major issues of access and abuse,
ranging from education, to health care, to violence, and early marriage
among others on girls and women. The project aims at advancing the
partners’ commitment to the respect for the girl child and the woman’s
rights as human rights using investigative journalism as a tool to focus
on the issues.

2-3 September 2014 – Rivers State
17-18 September 2014 – Abuja
Eligibility Criteria.
Applicant
must be Nigerian journalist from the print, broadcast or photography
specialties. Female journalists are encouraged to apply.
Applicant must be committed to attend the full workshop.
