Apply for Report Women: Girls and Women Investigative Reporting Training. Deadline: 14 August 2014.


The Nigerian professional journalists from the print, broadcast and photography specialties are invited to participate in Report Women, the Girls and Women Investigative Reporting Training. 

The selected participants will get an opportunity to pitch their projects for small grants. The grant will allow them opportunity to carry out investigation and report girls and women.

Report Women is organized by the Wole Soyinka Center for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) in collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Nigeria. The workshop is designed to focus on major issues of access and abuse, ranging from education, to health care, to violence, and early marriage among others on girls and women. The project aims at advancing the partners’ commitment to the respect for the girl child and the woman’s rights as human rights using investigative journalism as a tool to focus on the issues.

20-21 August 2014 – Ekiti State
2-3 September 2014 – Rivers State
17-18 September 2014 – Abuja

Eligibility Criteria.

Applicant must be Nigerian journalist from the print, broadcast or photography specialties. Female journalists are encouraged to apply.

Applicant must be committed to attend the full workshop.
