Invisible Borders’ 2014 trip: Senegal!

Finally, tthe artists reached Senegal last week after passing through Mali with lots of exciting and inspiring stops along the way!
Over one month into the epic trans-continental journey from Lagos to Sarajevo the participating artists have crossed five borders, confronted several checkpoints, worked in seven cities with numerous artists and engaged with local communities through research, exchange and public art work.
After a nine day stay in Bamako they have reached Dakar, Senegal and are already down to working hard.

Here are the artists at work during one of their weekly critic sessions. They are still soaking up Dakar and will be moving on to Mauritania and Morrocco. But first we'll give you a brief insight into what they've been up to!

While in Dakar the participants have been able to collaborate with Les Petite Pierres and held an event with them this Thursday. As well as that the artists have collaborated on workshops with local participants, performance interventions with the neighborhood's fallen Baobab tree in Ouakam and explored methods of image making using street photography at Goree Island.

“All this fantastic work that we Invisible Borders cannot wait to continue on the rest of our challenging road trip is not possible without the incredible support we have received so far. We want to say a big thank you to all our donors, big and small, and encourage those who resonate with what we have done so far, to support us in any way they can!
