Journalist launches E-book on tourism

An award-winning travel writer, Pelu Awofeso, has launched the e-versions of his travel books.
Titled: Tour of Duty: Journeys Around Nigeria and Sketches of Everyday Life and Nigerian Festivals: The Famous and not so Famous, the book was launched during this year's World Tourism Day celebrations on September 27.
According to him, both titles have been available in print over the years but travel book lovers can now get them in the electronic form. "I have opted for a 21st Century approach to book publishing, which is the e-book,” Awofeso said.
The winner 2010 CNN/Multichoice African Journalist Awards (Tourism) also hinted that: “What this simply means is that there are no physical inconveniences of any kind -the books can be bought at the click of a mouse and from anywhere in the world."
In 2009, with just a backpack and a camera, Awofeso crisscrossed 18 states in eight months in his 'Underbelly' project, giving birth to the enthralling collection in Tour of Duty.
With Nigerian Festivals, he celebrates the rich, exotic and diverse culture on Nigeria and Nigerians.
“At a time when the world is used to being fed with lots of negative news about Nigeria, Nigerians need to encourage the publication of more travel-based literature," Awofeso asserts.
"Tour of Duty and Nigerian Festivals show some of the absorbing sights and stories that make Nigeria a go-to destination for both domestic and foreign tourists. Readers can now get both titles exclusively as kindle versions on amazon.com.
