Olamide and Phyno celebrate their heroes as the #madeofblack campaign comes to town

Amid much fanfare, grandeur and hype the Guinness Brand Ambassadors surprised and celebrated their own #madeofblack heroes in Lagos and Enugu recently. Their heroes were identified as being bold, passionate, determined and selfless in helping others within their communities to achieve their dreams.
Olamide identified Tunde Adebanjo aka Euro as his #madeofblack hero while Phyno celebrated Mr. Macdonald Ikem Odenigbo aka DJ Good Noise as his hero.
At the home of Tunde Adebanjo, the household got a pleasant surprise as Olamide and the Guinness team visited them. Tunde, who could not hide his feelings, was full of appreciation as he welcomed the team amidst accolades for the MOB Ambassador.
Also, the atmosphere at the home of Mr. Macdonald Odenigbo could be described as ecstatic when Phyno and the team visited the middle aged music producer. Acknowledging the giant strides of Guinness and the #madeofblack movement, Odenigbo agreed that “this is one of the most joyous moments in my life”. The ambassadors later presented their heroes with a specialised Guinness bottle and a certificate.
Explaining the rationale behind their choices, Olamide and Phyno stated that it was important to recognize someone with a clear passion for creativity, sacrifice and zeal to make a difference.

According to Olamide, Adebanjo was celebrated “because of his selfless contribution to humanity and the society. He has done a lot for his community and environment and that is what the Made of Black campaign is all about; redefining black not as a colour but as an attitude that inspires individuals, charging them to greater feats. Adebanjo is my hero; he is made of more, made of attitude, made of swag; simply he is made of black”.
For Phyno, Mr. Odenigbo is worthy to be celebrated because he is bold. He is a determined individual, who inspires others to greatness. Odenigbo, a music producer, rapper, director and a disc jockey is one of the originators of Igbo rap in the 1990s. With degrees in Mass Communication and Psychology, he has worked with the many hip hop artistes including: 2Face Idibia, Nigga Raw, Smart Man, Ill bliss and Obiwon.
According to the Portfolio Marketing Manager, Guinness, Ms. Liz Ashdown the #madeofblack campaign celebrates individuals who are made of more, bold and determined in achieving whatever they set their minds to accomplish.
“MadeofBlack is more than an advertising campaign. This year, we are taking the campaign to the streets, turning the focus on the real made of black heroes in all walks of life across Nigeria. This year it’s all about you” Ashdown explained.
It would be recalled that Guinness recently celebrated its Made of Black ambassadors at a party in Lagos to kick start the second phase of the #madeofblack campaign.
