sons and daughters from all walks of life, across the South-West States, will
assemble in Abeokuta under the auspices of the Pan-Yoruba, socio-cultural and
political organization, Afenifere
Renewal Group (Ogun State Chapter) for a public lecture titled “Before Nigeria’s oil runs dry – options of
development in the South-West”.
The
lecture to be delivered by erudite scholar and immediate past governor of Ekiti
State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, is an
effort to escalate the discourse within the South-West zone on the state of the
Nation and provide deeper insight into the place of the South-West post-2015
national general elections.
The
conversation at the lecture will provoke intellectual interrogation on the
subject matter, stimulate proper course of action and illuminate the path the
zone shall take during the elections.
The
Chairman of the occasion is a distinguished son of Yorubaland, one of the most
respected leaders in the zone, and defender of the South-West cause in
contemporary Nigeria, retired Army
General, Alani Akinrinade.

event comes up at the June 12 Cultural
Centre and the public across the spectra of the political parties, have
been invited for the event.
The
Coordinator of the programme, Chief Segun Odegbami MON, says that everyone interested in the politics and future of
the South-West, beyond the political rhetoric of politicians, is invited to the
lecture which promises to speak to the real issues, and separate facts from fiction.
