Following a successful Le Petit Marche (LPM) outing at the Spitafields in London (May 2014), LPM in collaboration with HauteAfrica.com and Nature's Gentle Touch, presents its first African Designers edition in Nigeria.

The event holds on Sunday, 31 August at the L’Espace HQ, and is hosted by one of the world’s most respected supermodels, Oluchi Orlandi.

“I am excited to be a part of this homegrown fashion platform that has helped many brands soar,” Oluchi says.
“Platforms of connectivity online and offline are very key to fashion as distribution and retail networks can be a headache,” adds Wadami Amolegbe, founder of HauteAfrica.com. “LPM and Le’espace have been pioneers in solving that problem in Nigeria over the last five years and its indeed time to go Africa”.

This exciting edition looks to harness the buying power and desire for other African brands that are inaccessible to the Nigerian market and the LPM Community; before eventually touring Africa with an exciting mix of leading brands on the continent – taking the LPM Experience and community around the world!

The event will feature the latest, exclusive designs from some of Africa’s avant-garde clothiers: Osei Duro (Ghana), Sophie Zinga (Senegal), JLabel  (Nigeria) & Thula Sindi (South Africa).

“The goal had always been to open up fashion access across the continent then globally,” says Isoken Ogiemwonyi, who is co-founder of LPM. “We have conquered Nigeria and now excited to take on Africa.”

ABOUT LPM

Le Petite Marche (The Little Market) was birth in Nigeria to mirror the popular Portobello Market in London and has been a shopping favourite since its launch in 2009.
Respected as one of the major innovations in Nigeria’s fashion space, it successfully gathered the best of the city’s high street fashion brands and buyers – monthly all under one roof, since its launch, every last Sunday of the month.
For its annual anniversary, there has been a theme starting with its 1st year with Buy Nigerian Edition, the 2nd Year’s Charity Edition with the Freedom Foundation, and launching the retail concept store L’Espace in the third year. The store won the British Council Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award in 2013 at the Lagos Fashion & Design Week. In its 4th year it presented Discovering Design.

The LPM Africa inaugural edition will take place on the 31st of August, 2014, at L’espace.
