SOLDIER ARRESTED IN WARRI FOR SHAVING PASTOR’S HAIR

An overzealous soldier has been arrested by the Nigerian Army, 3 Battalion Effurun, Delta State for allegedly taking the laws into his hand by forcefully shaving the hair of a Pastor. The soldier who was on guard at the Alegbor Check point yesterday violently mutilated the hair of General Overseer and Founder, Tower of Faith Ministries, Rev. Felix Omas.
The humiliation of the clergy, Daily Newswatch learnt, infuriated the 3 Battalion’s commander who promptly ordered the arrest of the said soldier with a promise to charge him for improper conduct. The victim who narrated his ordeal to newsmen at the Warri NUJ Secretariat, said he was molested and ridiculed by the said soldier.
“I was driving in my SUV but due to the traffic situation, I boarded a tricycle. The soldiers stopped our Keke as we were coming from Alegbor, forcibly seated me on the ground as one of them pulled a scissors and stroke three ugly cuts on my hair, saying my hair style violates their rules”, he said.
Omas who was heading to Warri with one of his colleagues when he encountered the humiliation from the solder said he succumbed to the public disgrace as the soldiers threatened to shoot him with a gun.
A top military official at the 3 Battalion who pleaded anonymity abhorred the conduct of the offender, confirming that he has been arrested and facing pre trial.
